Walking L™ – Legal Information

Welcome to Walking L™ (“Walking L,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). Walking L™ is a shared shopping list application that allows users to create, manage, and collaborate on shopping lists and use related shopping, store, location, and notification features.

By accessing or using Walking L™, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use the service.

You must be at least 13 years old to use Walking L™.
You are responsible for your account, your conduct, and the content you create, share, or manage within the app, including usernames, list names, shopping items, and other user-generated content.
You may not use Walking L™ to engage in unlawful, threatening, harassing, abusive, fraudulent, or otherwise inappropriate conduct.
You may not attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, systems, or services or interfere with the normal operation or security of Walking L™.
Walking L™ does not endorse or assume responsibility for user-generated content or disputes between users.
We reserve the right to remove content, restrict access, remove users from shared lists, suspend or terminate accounts, or take other reasonable action when necessary to enforce these Terms, protect users, protect the service, or comply with legal obligations.
Walking L™ may modify, suspend, limit, or discontinue features or portions of the service when reasonably necessary.
Walking L™ is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we make no warranties regarding uninterrupted availability, reliability, accuracy, or suitability of the service.

Purchases and Refunds

Except where otherwise required by applicable law or the policies of the platform through which a purchase was made, purchases and subscription charges are non-refundable. Purchases made through the Apple App Store or Google Play are also subject to the applicable platform’s billing, cancellation, and refund policies.

Location-Based Features

Walking L™ may provide location-based features and notifications for convenience. Location information and notifications may be delayed, inaccurate, unavailable, or may not occur due to factors outside Walking L™’s control, including device settings, location permissions, operating-system restrictions, network availability, GPS accuracy, and other technical conditions.

Location-based notifications are provided as a convenience and should not be relied upon as a guaranteed reminder or notification service.

Subscriptions and Payments

Walking L™ may offer optional paid features, subscriptions, or service levels.

Purchases made through mobile application stores are processed through the applicable platform, such as Google Play or the Apple App Store. Pricing, billing, renewal, cancellation, and refund terms may also be subject to the policies and terms of the platform through which the purchase was made.

Walking L™ does not directly collect or store your complete payment card information when payment is processed by an application store or other authorized payment provider.

Features, limits, pricing, and subscription offerings may change over time. Any applicable pricing and subscription terms will be presented to you before purchase.

Walking L™ respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains the categories of information that may be collected or processed when you use the service and the purposes for which that information is used.

Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use and permissions you grant, information may include:

Account Information: Information associated with your account, such as your email address, display name, account identifier, and authentication method.
App Content: Shopping lists, shopping items, stores, shared-list information, preferences, and other information you choose to provide through the service.
Usage and Technical Information: Information related to app operation, performance, interactions, device characteristics, errors, security, and service usage.
Location Information: Approximate or precise device location when you grant the applicable permission and use features requiring location.
Notification Information: Information necessary to provide notifications, alerts, and related app functionality.
Subscription Information: Information necessary to determine available features, subscription status, service limits, and entitlements.

How We Use Information

We may use information to:

Create, authenticate, maintain, and secure user accounts.
Provide and synchronize shared shopping lists.
Provide store, location, and nearby-notification features.
Provide notifications and other requested functionality.
Administer subscriptions, service levels, and applicable usage limits.
Maintain, troubleshoot, secure, and improve Walking L™.
Prevent fraud, abuse, unauthorized access, and misuse of the service.
Respond to support requests and enforce our Terms of Service.
Comply with applicable legal obligations.

Location Information

Walking L™ may request access to your device’s approximate or precise location to provide location-based features, including store-related functionality and nearby-store notifications.

Certain location-based functionality may require location access while Walking L™ is not actively displayed on your screen. Background location access is used only when permission has been granted and when necessary to provide enabled location-based functionality.

You may control or revoke location permissions through your device settings. Disabling location access may prevent some location-based features from functioning.

Third-Party Services

Walking L™ relies on third-party service providers to provide certain functionality. These may include services provided by Google, Firebase, Apple, Facebook/Meta, application stores, mapping providers, authentication providers, and other technology or infrastructure providers.

These providers may process information as necessary to provide their respective services and may be subject to their own privacy policies and terms.

Data Sharing and Sale of Personal Information

Walking L™ does not sell your personal information.

We may disclose or make information available to service providers when reasonably necessary to operate, secure, support, or provide Walking L™.

Information may also be disclosed when reasonably necessary to comply with applicable law, legal process, protect the rights or safety of users or others, investigate fraud or abuse, or protect Walking L™ and its services.

Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, maintain security and operational requirements, comply with applicable obligations, and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.

When an account is deleted, personal information associated with the account is removed or de-identified as applicable.

Walking L™ may retain historical, aggregated, or de-identified information for analytical, operational, security, and business purposes, provided that such information is no longer reasonably associated with you as an identifiable user.

Certain information may also be retained where required or permitted by law, including for legal, security, fraud-prevention, transaction, or legitimate business purposes.

Your Choices

You may control certain information and permissions through Walking L™ and your device settings, including location and notification permissions.

You may also request deletion of your Walking L™ account as described below.

Account & Data Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the Walking L™ app or by contacting us for assistance.

Before deleting your account, please transfer ownership of any shared shopping lists if applicable. Deleting your account may result in loss of access to lists you created, manage, or participate in.

When your account is deleted, personal information associated with your account is removed or de-identified as applicable.

Certain information may also be retained where required or permitted by law, including for legal, security, fraud-prevention, transaction, or legitimate business purposes.

Requests submitted by contacting us for assistance are typically processed within 30 days.

Changes to These Terms and Privacy Policy

We may update these Terms of Service or Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes to Walking L™, our practices, legal requirements, or other operational needs.

When appropriate, the effective date shown on this page will be updated. Continued use of Walking L™ following an applicable update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms to the extent permitted by law.
